Marijuana Rolling Paper Company Seeks Content Creator To ‘Get Paid To Smoke Weed’ For $70,420 Salary

March 4, 2024 by Kyle Jaeger

A marijuana company specializing in manufacturing pre-rolled joints has launched a campaign to hire for what it calls the “ultimate stoner dream job,” seeking a content creator who will “get paid to smoke weed.”

Custom Cones USA announced on Monday that it is hiring for the role with its new direct-to-consumer brand DaySavers, which produces rolling papers. The full-time social media creator and event marketer job will pay $70,420 with perks including cannabis product testing and all expenses paid travel to marijuana events.

“We are thrilled to be launching our Ultimate Stoner Dream Job campaign in the hopes that we will find a dedicated and one-of-a-kind content creator and social media manager to help us build engaging content on our social media platforms,” Harrison Bard, CEO of DaySavers and Custom Cones USA, said in a press release.

“If you’re passionate about cannabis and have any kind of creative talent—this may be the job for you,” he said. “Many people talk about doing what they love, but few actually have the chance to make it a reality. This is a dream opportunity for any cannabis lover!”

Applications are being accepted through April 20. The company said it will also be hiring part-time roles with similar responsibilities.

The campaign is reminiscent of the time that cannabis icon Snoop Dogg disclosed in 2019 that he pays a person between $40,000-$50,000 per year to roll blunts for him.

The National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) has also previously solicited help to “acquire, develop and produce” marijuana cigarettes for research purposes.

The gimmicky Custom Cones USA job posting certainly draws attention to the brand, but to be clear, a person would not be hired simply to smoke marijuana. The job requires a background in social media content management, which would presumably be the chief responsibility of the hire.
