Lovingly and Legally The Spray Review
I met Lovingly and Legally at a Meet the Farmers event at Barbary Coast SF’s consumption lounge alongside other farmers from Mendocino. Paul and Susan run a biodynamic sungrown farm in Laytonville and instead of bringing flowers to market – they bring a spray… “The Spray.” I’ve since seen them at The Bohemian Chemist at a Mendocino Cannabis Alliance Farmer’s Market, the California State Fair Cannabis Exhibit where they had a booth, and even ran into Paul at the first Distinguished Cannabis Lecture at Cal Poly Humboldt. He had driven up from Laytonville to get some facetime with Dr. Ethan Russo and make sure they had the latest medical information to give.
The small of my back has no small pain. It stems from bad posture while sitting in orchestra with a violin on my shoulder, and I only realized that recently while really high – which is usually the move for subsiding that pain. If the upper body and spine is on a swivel over your hips, well, I’m constantly rotated 0.0174533 radians in a counter clockwise direction.
On a sober day, I tried The spray. I sprayed some on the small of my back and let it settle. About an hour later I noticed that my body had reached a very down-to-earth feel. Like the bottom of a breath. Like after smoking some nice flower but without the head high. Specifically, my back felt great. I did a full suite of stretches and that helped extend the loosening of my tightness beyond the duration of the spray’s effects.
This isn’t some spray that started as poorly grown hemp flower, turned into CBD isolate, turned into whatever else, then came to you via the mail. Nope, this is like getting some nice sungrown flower at the dispo that you’d smoke any other day and then running your own alcohol based extraction at home. I’ve made Green Dragon before, but I never thought to use it topically. Suffice to say, there are other key chemical components of the cannabis plant in there besides plain ol’ cannabinoid isolates. The entourage effect is in full view. The ensemble effect can be heard.
Grab The Spray if you see it. Ask your dispo to stock it if you don’t. Don’t sleep on nonsmoking applications of cannabis. Everybody will eventually have aches and pains. I highly recommend you get ahead of them.
