Not having had this Blue Zushi revitalising release from Bay Area Flavors and Limited Trees before, I was interested in seeing how it turned out and whether it was better than the now fading original from Tenco. Upon opening I instantly received an extremely refreshing infusion of sweet cherries and distant red grapes complemented perfectly by pungent notes of mint, menthol and sweetened caramelised onions. The scent was identical to an old release of Blue Zushi, effectively smelling more like Blue Zushi than Blue Zushi does itself nowadays. The buds were of a mixed density, having a typical messy Zkittles structure. They were a shade of light green, alongside short messy rustic pistils, moderately covered in trichomes. Upon inhaling, my palate was instantly overcome by a sweet Zkittles and minty cross with a unique twist. Delivering sweet notes of cherries complemented by refreshing notes of mint, eucalyptus, menthol and subdued peach, alongside an in-depth gas with traits of sweet caramelised onion. Through combustion a distinctive taste of what I can only imagine as being similar to white spirit develops, adding more of a pleasant surprise rather than an artificial additive. This uniquely sweet minty infusion is retained on my tastebuds upon exhaling. The joint produced ash being a shade of very light silver, alongside an instantaneous leaking and oozing resinous oil ring. It smoked both smooth and tasted clean. To conclude, I found Zalenciaga to deliver a unique and complex refreshing infusion of Zkittles and Kush Mints. Although it did not necessarily taste like the original (or more recent) Blue Zushi, it was still exceptionally tasty and potentially better in its own right. Already smoking better than BZ, with a little further dialling in hopefully Zalenciaga will make its own wave and be here to stay.
