From enjoying the recent variation of candy crosses from Cannatique, I was interested in seeing how their Passionfruit Gelato fared. Upon opening I was instantly greeted by an extremely sweet candy and light citrus gas. Displaying notes of cherries and strawberries alongside earthy, and refreshing notes of pine. The buds were of a medium to hard density and having a hybrid structure. They were a shade of light green, with messy rustic pistils, behind hues of purple and absolutely showered in an almost white layer of trichomes. Upon inhaling my palate was instantly overcome by notes translating from the smell. Delivering an enjoyable sweet candy essence with notes of cherries and strawberries, complemented by an earthy citrusy gas, with creamy, piney spicy and chemical traits. Through combustion the earthiness began to overpower the sweetness ever so slightly, with this mild candy gas retained on my tastebuds upon exhaling. The joint produced ash being a shade of medium to light silver, alongside an instantaneous oozing and leaking resinous oil ring. It smoked both partially smooth and tasted clean. To conclude, I found Passionfruit Gelato to smoke fairly well, ticking most boxes. Although it delivered an enjoyable sweet candy flavour, it began to dissipate slightly upon combustion leaving the overall taste to be nothing too memorable. With a some further dialling in required, PG will hopefully stand strong among its counterparts and be a staple to the Cannatique lineup.
