Next from Cannatique’s new lineup is Botonetas. With the branding referencing the Latin American chocolate covered lentil treat. Upon opening I was greeted by an infusion of mildly sweet cherries infused with an earthy, creamy and part menthol gas, with citrus and chemical traits. The buds were of a medium to hard density and having a hybrid structure. They were a shade of medium green, with short minimal rustic pistils, behind hues of dark purple and doused in trichomes. Upon inhaling, my palate was overcome by notes translating from the smell.
Delivering sweet notes of cherries, infused with an earthy and creamy gas, with traits of menthol, sour citrus and chemicals. This evenly balanced sweet gassiness was retained on my tastebuds upon exhaling. The joint produced ash being a shade of medium to light silver, alongside an instantaneous resinous oil ring. It smoked both smooth and tasted clean.
To conclude, although Botonetas was nothing too memorable, I found it to deliver an enjoyable pungent earthy gas with sweet cherry undertones. It smoked well and ticked most boxes, still out smoking a lot of competitors. With some further dialling in required, Botonetas will stand strong among its counterparts and be a great choice for enthusiasts of candy strains that are not overly sweet.
