From hearing consistent great things about Bay Area’s Zaba Cannabis Co, I was extremely excited to be able to get my hands on their organic living soil grown Blue Ube. Arriving with innovative packaging, consisting of a well designed box, as well as a small die cut bag. With the branding referencing a traditional Filipino ice cream, made from yam’s giving it a vivid purple colour. Upon opening I instantly received a rush of an extremely sweet gummy candy aroma, smelling uniquely different in comparison to other candy strains. Displaying strong notes of strawberries, blueberries and grapes, infused with pine and fizzy citrus undertones. This refreshing candy scent was complemented by a pungent Gelato gassiness with hints of menthol and floral traits. The buds were of a soft to medium density, having a foxtail structure, being a shade of medium green with dark purple hues, and showered in a universe of trichomes. Upon inhaling, my palate was instantly overcome by a complex blend of notes translating from the smell. Delivering a creamy Gelato influenced gas, with traits consisting of fuel, pine and menthol, displaying a distant Cherry Pie lineage. This unique gas was complemented by a sweet infusion of primarily grapes and strawberries. The taste of this uniquely delicious candy gummy gas was retained on my tastebuds upon exhaling. The joint produced immaculate fluffy ash being a shade of very light silver, alongside an instantaneous leaking and oozing resinous oil ring, smoking both exceptionally smooth and tasting clean. To conclude, with Blue Ube being the first Zaba Cannabis Co. flower I have tried, I was left extremely impressed. It smoked exceptionally smooth and equally delivered a delicious blend of unique flavours. With no dialling in necessarily required, Blue Ube will remain a great staple of Zaba’s lineup.
