Pacific Grove Farm Tour (Fall 2023)
I was given the privilege of tagging along with @choicenug and @theloud100 on their tour of @pacificgrovepdx this past weekend and what a sensational experience! PG is a small, friend-and-family owned, indoor facility that’s been dropping recreational flower in Portland, OR since 2018. Over the last half-a-decade, Randy and Andrew, co-founders of the brand, have built a formidable outfit with a principal goal of producing quality above quantity.
Pacific Grove boasts a state of the art facility with three grow rooms, one veg room, and a cure room that are perpetually pumping out fire. It is quickly apparent that scientific method is the guiding force underlying every decision behind the scenes at PG. Growers use sensors in each table, monitor complex control systems, and cross check a multitude of data points to carefully track changes in environment and dial in each strain to its utmost potential. The result is healthy, happy plants, that grow vigorously and produce incredible flower.
Pacific Grove has set an intention in their selection of unique genetics that aren’t widely circulated in the Oregon market. The team meticulously processes phenos from each cultivar, comparing and selecting the best expression with an overall lens of putting out products that are noticeably different from the rest of the market.
One needs not look further than PGs menu to see them executing that objective. Strains like Grapricot Pie, Animal Butter, and Tropical Runtz run the gamut from fruity to savory to sweet, with each one exhibiting a distinct, individualized flavor presentation. Two selections that stood out during the tour were Bloodbath, a soapy, z forward strain with a drop dead aesthetic to match its fragrance, and Moonstone, a Gushers and Apples and Bananas cross that exudes this wildly decadent “diesel-fuel-with-wasabi-and-scorched-asphalt” aroma.
If you haven’t had the chance to check out Pacific Grove recently, it’s worth taking a look at their current line up – it’s packed with more heat than an active volcano. Huge shouts out to Randy, @WavyPlanta, @choicenug , @theloud100 , and @oregonleaf for the BTS opportunity
