Sen. Jeff Merkley (D-OR) tweeted, “Legal cannabis businesses are forced to operate in all-cash—leaving them vulnerable to armed robbery and money laundering. We have a path to get SAFE Banking passed this year, and I will work to get it to the finish line.” He also tweeted, “We have bipartisan support for the SAFE Banking Act, and we have a path to get this bill to the Senate floor. Let’s get this done!”
Sen. John Kennedy (R-LA) claimed in a Senate floor speech that marijuana is being laced with fentanyl for “more kick” and so that “drug dealers make more money.”
Rep. James McGovern (D-MA) hosted a listening session with marijuana businesses.
Rep. Mike Garcia (R-CA) posted information about how people can submit tips on illegal marijuana cultivation to Los Angeles County, California police.
The House marijuana banking bill got 10 new cosponsors for a total of 19.

Nevada Gov. Joe Lombardo (R) recognized the efforts of cannabis regulatory inspectors.
The Connecticut House of Representatives passed a bill to restrict the sales of hemp-derived cannabinoid products.
The Texas House of Representatives initially approved, and then rejected, a bill to repeal the ban on the production of smokable hemp products.
A Guam representative filed a bill to remove marijuana from pre-employment testing for people applying for government jobs.
Illinois representatives spoke about a bill to allow safe consumption sites for illegal drugs.
A Maine representative discussed the benefits of legalizing safe consumption sites for illegal drugs.
Colorado regulators issued a health and safety advisory about potentially unsafe levels of yeast, mold and Aspergillus in marijuana products. Separately, regulators are launching an underage cannabis sales dashboard.
Washington State regulators withdrew emergency rules that temporarily extended the timeframe for marijuana social equity applications.
New York regulators will consider revised marijuana rules on Thursday.

A study demonstrated that “CBD has anti-inflammatory properties and exhibits significant therapeutic potential against HIV-1 infections and neuroinflammation.”
