Pug’s Breath Cannabis Cultivar (Strain) Review
Pug’s Breath has an impressive visual aesthetic. The nugs are dense and chunky, featuring a spear-like shape and a stubby, shortened cola structure. The base coloration is a rich shade of forest green contrasted by an extensive amount of wispy purple foliage that forms the outer layer of each bud. Sections of pistil fibers swaddle the exterior surface like sinuous orange veins while a shroud of trichomes blankets everything visible like a glimmering, crystalline canopy
The PB has an aroma that’s absolutely ridiculous. It’s deeply, profoundly meaty with substantial undertones of spiced pepper and earthy musk that claw at the nostrils. Breaking the flower down adds a subtle layer of diffused, sweetened doughiness to the scent while simultaneously releasing a wave of umami-forward, meat-centric funk that practically overtakes the expression. The sumptuous, mouthwatering fragrance is more comparable to that of a pan fried steak than to that of flower
The flavor of PB is similarly outstanding. It has a savory, halitosis-like raunch that pummels the palette from the first drawl forward. The inhale is decidedly meaty with the tiniest tint of sweetness, while the exhale is more musky – featuring piquant notes of allspice, dichotomous earth, and ground peppercorn. The flavor has a robust body that’s present on each hit, generating a sharpened, palpable flavor sensation atop the tongue and lips. It’s a powerful, complex taste that sticks to the palette during and after consumption
PB has an exceptionally potent effect. Its lightly intoxicating, cognitively-disorienting head high that induces warm feelings of euphoria and bliss. Physiologically, the effect is heavy, producing a weighty and faintly numbing sensation that sweeps through the physical form. It’s a smooth, medicinal effect that manages to feel impactful without being completely incapacitating
In summation, Pug’s Breath is a stellar cultivar. It checks all the boxes for top shelf flower while providing a distinct “mendo” presentation that’s so meaty and savory it defies comparison. Excellent work from High Noon
