5 On It Cannabis Cultivar (strain) Review
Aroma Profile: 8.2/10 : 8.7/10
Heavy outdoorsy woodsy earthy herbal peppery notes dominated by sweet strawberry banana fruity musky doughy florals with barley hops fermented (sour apple ipa) beer funk & A tiny bit of orange-lemon tropical cheesy skunky citrus haze. Occasional notes of sourdanks, pine, diesel, & blueberry.
Appeal: 8.8/10
Long, tall stretching witch-finger colas that have elongated arrow head spear shapes, Slightly curled at the tips. The structure has a nice chunky nug density to its tall skinny build. The nugs somewhat have an outdoorsy appearance from the structure & color scheme but its high-quality and meticulous trichomes definitely confirm it’s indoor origins- Dark greens, mid greens, & yellow-greens blend together with some dark teal-purple outer leaves w/ burnt orange pistils & clustered packs of ambered trichomes w/ medium-large sized heads giving it a creamy beige overtone. The cure was overly moist at first, but by now it has some crispness to the snap, is slightly more dried, but still pulls apart softly w/ a lot of moisture & a sappy trich stretch. Very dense in the break up.
(Finals Avg between multiple cure durations)
Ash: 8/10 Smoke: 8.6/10 Flavor: 8.3/10
The taste accurately translates the nose, with heavy outdoorsy strawberry banana terps, woodsy, earthy, herbal spicey, flowery-floral, and doughy musk leading the way. The sour dank fuel & diesel does shine through a bit more here, wrapped in a chocolate nutty doughiness, with a lavender Clove mixing with the apple beer funk & sour dank orange-lemon citrus. When I first got this the ash was peppery and the smoke had decent bite to it- But after 2 months (video 8: 6/26/23) of aging/curing the smoke improved a bit, & was smoother, w/ only a small pinch of bite & slight pepper still lingering only on the outsides of the ash that slightly increase as the burn progresses. Todays sesh (video 6, 7, 9 10) w/ 6 months additional dry/cure time really dialed the smoothness & ash in, & while dumping a fat terp ring, but it did loose a little flavor in that lengthy process.
Effects : 8.9/10 Potency 8.6/10
The effects were solid, it has some uplift to the mentality, boosting the mood, with some small focus to the mind, and a slight increase in heart rate.. at first.. but the buzz has nice entourage, with a nice toasty bake to it, that centers around euphoria & some obvious pain / stress relief. The body has a nice relaxing buzz, but it definitely has a little ball of energy deep within that can be channeled to be productive as well. Really balanced buzz, very toasty, but somewhat uplifted. The potency was solid, right where I like it, not too powerful, but checks the power box nicely. Nice hybrid buzz that leans to an ‘indica’ side entourage effect wise & leans to the ‘sativa’ side deep within.
Overall: 8.8/10
Overall this was a nice production overall, it checked most the boxes initially, and ended up checking them all eventually, but even after the 6 months of curing it still didn’t quite meet my expectations- & that’s partially preference based but is mostly set from the high ticket point, that and the other strains I’ve had from RM set extremely high precedence. This one was really solid though, standard top shelf that would out perform most stuff out there, but it wasn’t quite that ‘6star’ experience that I had come to consistently expect from RM. Mostly preference based scores here , my only issues with the burn were solved with a time & age but even so I think at that ticket point it should’ve been more like the other jars imho.
